The Power of the Pen
Write a Letter to the Editor of your local newspaper. Here
are some tips:
• Keep your letter short, no more than 300 words.
• Address your letter to "Dear Editor."
• Write concise sentences, and stick to one issue.
• The letter should be typed and double-spaced. Include
your home and work telephone numbers.
• Convey brief background material about the problem.
• Use relevant and accurate statistics from a reputable
source.
• Tell your readers what action they should take.
