Planned Giving

The Doris Day Animal League advocates on animal protection legislation on the state and federal level and educates on animal protection issues.

Your future support as a bequest in your estate plan will help to sustain these efforts for generations to come. Your personal legacy will help save the lives of all animals, help us to advocate on their behalf, and sustain our agenda to drive transformational change. DDAL simply could not exist but for investments like the one you are making.

You can include The Doris Day Animal League as a beneficiary of a retirement account, commercial annuity, or life insurance policy simply by completing the financial institution’s beneficiary form. Your financial institution will need our legal name, address and tax id number listed here.

The Doris Day Animal League is registered as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization. Contributions or gifts to DDAL are not tax-deductible. Your donation may be used for lobbying to pass laws to protect animals. It is worth noting that not every person’s estate is subject to being taxed and can take advantage of an estate charitable deduction. The federal tax law imposes an estate tax only on estates above a specified value. State inheritance tax laws vary. We strongly encourage you to consult your attorney to determine whether your estate will be subject to any tax and, if so, the impact of bequests to charities and other nonprofit organizations.
